This fine vintage Japanese crackle glaze vase measures 8″ high by 2.75″ across the top rim, with a tapered oblong shape, high shoulders and flared lip.
The grayish-white background porcelain is covered with a fine network of darker gray crackle (INTENDED and smooth to the touch, as it is under the glaze).
The front of the vase is hand painted in deep cobalt blue with a classic Oriental landscape scene. A small house perched on the side of a mountain is surrounded by pine trees against a backdrop of even higher distant mountains.
A lone figure is seen fishing off the rocks at the base of the hill.
