Our Egg Shell Ornaments are on real chicken & goose egg shells. They are painted and engraved free-hand by the artist. Using a high speed drill, the artist creates designs with great precision.
The Artisan was born in Prague, Czech Republic. As a child, she was taught by her grandmother how to decorate traditional Easter eggs with hot wax. Growing up, she enjoyed various arts and crafts as a hobby. As a young adult, she decided to study foreign languages and international business. She did not return to the art of egg decorating until she moved to the United States in 1982. She has developed a multitude of unique designs — many of which we offer and will be adding here. She travels to many Czech and Slovak communities to teach traditional crafts and to offer lectures about the subject.
