An opportunity to have a beautiful cake/dessert set that displays well and can be enjoyed when serving dessert to family and friends.

The large octagonal serving plate measures 10.5″ wide and the individual dessert plates measure 6″ wide.

The plates are marked as shown in the last picture. The two red characters are: Bi jutsu = “beautiful artwork” which is probably a brand name or product line. Decoration in traditional “Imari” style. The three blue vertical characters read IMARI.  This is 20th century Imari.

Imari is a style of porcelain named after the Japanese port from which it was shipped to the West, beginning in the late 17th century. Originally made in the town now known as Arita, which became a center for porcelain thanks to its proximity to kaolin-rich Izumiyama, Imari ware (also called Japan or Japan ware)
