Russian – Chicken – Covered Sbiten Cup

This unusual Russian, Covered Sbiten Cup has been packed away!

Shaped like a chick w/ a steam hole in the beak.

This measures 3.5″ tall, 4.5″ long from tip of spout to end of handle and 2″ across the top opening.

Sbiten is an ancient wintertime drink of Russia that is drunk to ward off the winter chills. It is a very simple drink usually made by mixing honey and water with spices and jam. It is brewed and kept hot in huge boiler type urns, and served hot with or without mixing with Vodka.

For the serious collector of Chicken Memorabilia this is a rare find.

This Russian, Covered Sbiten Cup comes from a Vermont collection of over 2000 pieces that was collected over 65 years. This special piece has been packed away for years.
