The Folgate Silver Plated Manufacturing Company is well known for its exceptional hand chased and hand made silver. This beautiful covered serving dish is a hard to find example of their quality work.
No one surpasses the English when it comes to elegant dining. Quality English serving pieces like this have the decorative design on the inside of the cover so that when used as a second open serving dish, it matches.
This will look as nice on your table as it did on any Royal or Noble table. It is a versatile piece that can serve as a covered serving dish or two open serving dishes.
The last owner to enjoy using this serving piece purchased it in 1988 for $575. That would be $1,164 in today’s dollars! At some point in its 116 plus year history, it was dropped There are two tiny divots that are hard to notice and do not detract. They were first noticed while polishing and the reflection photographed in Pictures #8 and #9.
It measures 11″ long, 9.5″ wide and 6″ high when covered. The bottom serving well is 10″ x 9.5″ and 1.75″ high. The cover when used as a serving dish is 9″ x 6″ and 1.5″ high. It is hallmarked as shown.

These pieces will not be in Shops At Fayrehale – They will remain in the collector’s possession until sold.
