Vintage 1980-1981 “Winners Circle” Red & White Hand Appliqued, Hand Quilted Cotton Quilt with Matching Hand Quilted Pillow Shams in Excellent Condition with no rips, tears, holes, stains, odors, etc.
One corner of the quilt does have a small area of the red fabric showing some fading due to exposure to sunlight.
The quilt does have a fabric tag sewn to the underside of one corner that gives the provenance of the quilt’s history. The quilt was originally hand pieced in 1980 by Susan Morgan Acerbi and then quilted by Susan Acerbi & the Ladies of St. John’s Church in Canton, Ohio.
The hand pieced, appliqued quilt does have a pair of matching pillow shams with ruffled edges.
It measures 70 inches by 86 inches. The quilt has medium cotton batting which really accentuates the Winner’s Circle pattern applique…gives the design a puffed appearance…see photos. The quilt has white cotton backing and white binding to edges. The quilt has meticulous hand quilting with tiny little stitches of approximately 8 per inch.
